About The Duskbloods

The project began from an encounter with Nintendo rather than an internal FromSoftware pitch. An embryonic collection of ideas was presented to Nintendo, who immediately expressed interest. The concept was originally conceived for the first Nintendo Switch, but the team delayed it to take advantage of the new Switch 2 hardware.

Set during the Twilight of Humanity — the end stage of civilization — the game centers on the First Blood, a mysterious force that the Bloodsworn compete to obtain. These are not classic vampires: Miyazaki has explained the concept deliberately departs from traditional vampire horror, drawing instead on the more romantic aspects of blood and power.

The Duskbloods is FromSoftware's first console-exclusive title in more than twenty years. Miyazaki has clarified that it does not interfere with the studio's single-player lineup, which continues in parallel with a separate team.
